A Night to Remember at The Olive Bar, Darwen

What a fantastic evening we had last night at The Olive Bar in Darwen! The warmth, support, and spirit of the Irish community were on full display, making it a truly special occasion.

This gathering wasn’t just about entertainment; it was a powerful demonstration of unity and compassion. The event was organised to support a fundraising effort for a local man from County Wexford, who is navigating the devastating loss of his beloved wife to cancer. The response from the community was heartening, with so many coming together to show their solidarity and care.

The entertainment was nothing short of spectacular. The Shamrock Irish Dancers – NW England wowed the audience with their incredible talent and flawless performances. Having represented the North West on a national stage, they showcased why they’re such an acclaimed group. Their energy and grace were truly inspiring.

The evening’s music was just as memorable, with the region’s favourite Irish band, Rigs & Jeels, delivering a stellar performance that had everyone clapping along and singing their hearts out. The band was joined by a very special guest, Jimmy, frontman of Silver Dollar, whose appearance added an extra layer of magic to the night.

If last night inspired you to get involved, why not take up Irish dancing yourself? It’s a wonderful way to stay active, connect with culture, and be part of a vibrant community. Reach out to us for more details—we’d be thrilled to welcome you, your friends, or your family to give it a try.

And remember, Darreners, the Bolton Irish Community Association is just up the road! We’d love to see you at our future events, so keep an eye out for updates and come join us for more evenings filled with joy, music, and community spirit.

Thank you to everyone who joined us last night—your presence and support made all the difference. Together, we can continue to celebrate, uplift, and support one another through every step of life’s journey.

Sláinte to the strength of community!
