We want to flag an important update for anyone travelling between Ireland and the UK.
From 25 February, most airlines, including Aer Lingus and Ryanair, now require passengers to present a valid passport or Irish passport card when travelling between Ireland and the UK.
No other forms of ID will be accepted.
If you are unsure whether your documents meet the new requirements, Aer Lingus can help:
- Email: traveldocuments@aerlingus.com
- UK: +44 808 189 4472
- Ireland: +353 1 697 1970
TravelWise tips
- Check your passport or passport card is valid
- Apply for an Irish passport well in advance if needed
- Always check ID requirements with your airline or ferry operator before travelling
Information on applying for or renewing an Irish passport in the UK is available via the Embassy of Ireland website.
Please share this with family and friends who may be travelling soon.
Go raibh maith agaibh
